Mockups of a hypothetical rebrand with a UX twist
The app had lots of hierarchy issues overall. The booking system was a mess of buttons that all looked the same, and radiuses on elements were irregular across the interface. Also, the first screen is just a massive advertisement, with the user's dashboard left as an afterthought at the bottom. It felt like they didn't value the user enough.
Since this was mainly a UI and rebranding project, I wanted to focus seeing what the app could look like if it was made for a gen z audience, as the current design skewed more mature. I made a persona and moodboard to help guide my aesthetic direction.
I took inspiration from current UI trends, such as brutalism, neon colors, and wide fonts. I even incorporated pink as an accent color.
I made the front page have a large welcome div on it, with two important buttons for easy access. I kept ads subtle and suitable to the user's preferences. Instead of promoting the card itself, I promote what you can do with it.
On the original screen, I mistaked the location section for the time section since all the features are stuck close together with no variation. As a solution, I make the location fields stacked and the date fields next to each other and turned the travelers section into a groupchat-like adding system for better visual organization.
I decided to push the concept further and design two more screens to show a full cycle of scheduling, boarding, and flying. I added a new feature where the status section can act as a flight tracker after boarding.
